PURPOSE: Use your art skills and creativity to create your OWN characters for this web page that shows YOUR character or characters cleaning teeth, pointing out good mouth care habits, or to point out the components of braces (archwires, elastic ligatures, hooks, etc.). The purpose is to have fun, and to add your own creative touch to help new patients understand the basics of keeping teeth and braces clean, and to explain basic "parts" including archwires, hooks, and ligatures. Who says a little entertainment can't be educational, too!?

WHAT TO DO: Just submit one or more drawings to the office (mail it in to the office -- see address at the bottom of this page, OR drop it by the front desk at your next appointment, OR send a scanned image by email, to the email address at the bottom of the page, etc.), and the doctors and office staff will pick the best of those that are submitted. We'll then have our artist/web person "animate" YOUR characters so that they move around on top of he backdrop of the "smile with braces."

SIMPLE RULES: Create your drawings on white paper, and you may use anything to create your drawing (pen, pencil, crayon, water colors, etc.), and use as many colors as you wish. The drawing should be ONLY of the character, and NOT the background. To let your imagination run wild, you can also tell us how you would like for YOUR character to move over (or around, or through!) the drawing of the "smile with braces." For example, you might say:
"Put my character so that she is sitting on top of the archwire at the top right, and pointing to the hook on the top right, with a 'bubble caption' -- 'this is the hook. A rubber band (elastic) is stretched from one hook to another'"

We will give you credit for your drawing (first names) and will put it up on THIS web page! HAVE FUN!!!
